An Open Mind is a Wonderful Thing to Ace
Working with someone for a short period of time does not mean they have not made a lasting impression. That is the case for the Philly Temps & Perm Employee of the Month for January 2021, Lucian G.
Many people think that one must choose between being artistic and being business like, however Lucian exemplifies how exploring both paths simultaneously can merge onto the road for success.
Lucian's work experience during her college years honed her administrative skills and her interest exploring and expanding her creative side gave her the ability to present herself in the ideal way to get noticed.
It is unclear if the lasting impression Lucian makes is because she is so dedicated to doing a good job or if she does such a good job that she leaves an indelible impression, but either way we are proud to have her represent Philly Temps and are excited to see how far such a dynamic and creative individual can go.
Thank you Lucian for allowing Philly Temps & Perm to be part of your journey.
Philly Temps (PT): How long have you lived in the Philadelphia, PA area?
Lucian G. (LG): I’ve lived here for around eight (8) years now.
PT: Do you have a favorite local place to shop / visit?
LG: I usually like to wander around South Philly and Center City often so I don’t have an exact favorite, but some of my favorite places to go are cafés, any metaphysical stores, The Penn University Museum, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Franklin Institute, and The Rosenbach Museum.
PT: What was your work experience prior to working with Philly Temps?
LG: My work experience prior to working with Philly Temps was mostly office experience at my college and some retail experience elsewhere.
PT: Please share your most memorable experience working for Philly Temps.
LG: My most memorable experience with Philly Temps is actually getting Employee of the Month. I’ve never had it happen, so I find it really amazing I can achieve something like that!
PT: What are your long-term career goals?
LG: My long-term career goals involve do involve the arts. I really love creating music and writing, but at the moment I’m most driven with writing as I’m going to college for creative writing. I enjoy writing songs, poems, and stories. I one day hope I can become successful with it!
PT: What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
LG: My hobbies (which of some are also relaxing for me) include writing (songs, poems, stories), music (singing, composing), and art (drawing). I also like listening to music, reading tarot, reading books, drinking tea, meditating, playing games, watching anime and reading manga, watching films and shows, eating yummy food, and doing my spooky makeup.
PT: What advice can you give to prospective candidates that want to work with Philly Temps?
LG: My advice for prospective candidates is to never give up! You may feel like you can’t accomplish something, but you definitely have the potential to. It takes hard work, but also put yourself first. If something isn’t working, get down to the roots of the problem, and find a solution. Rest. Rejuvenate. And move forward. There is always a solution to something even if it isn’t clear right away. And always remember, your hard work is always appreciated and never overlooked.
