The 2020 Women’s Entrepreneurship Awards

Women’s Entrepreneurship Day falls on November 19th each year. As a Women Owned Business, Philly Temps finds it necessary to celebrate the presence of Women in Business. This year we hosted an awards ceremony, designed to highlight other local Women Owned Businesses. From the 19th of November through the first week of December, we accepted numerous nominations of the Women Entrepreneurs in your life. 

Finally, the time has come to name the recipient of our award… Congratulations to Jenea Robinson, Founder of Marsh + Mane in Philadelphia, PA!

As the recipient of the Women’s Entrepreneurship Award, Philly Temps & Perm will be donating on her behalf  to her chosen charity.

About Jenea and Marsh & Mane:

Jenea previously spent years in a corporate job as the Director of Public Relations at a large company in Philadelphia before leaving and realizing that there was a need for women of color to “have a home to celebrate and enjoy the beauty only one can feel from great looking hair.” The result of this realization was Marsh + Mane. 

Marsh + Mane, a natural hair and lifestyle boutique carrying a wide selection of independent and national brands, is located on S. 4th Street between South & Lombard Streets in Philadelphia, PA. Jenea describes her shop as a “true beauty supply experience for women of color” and advocates for women of color, stating “women of color shouldn’t have to have a horrible customer experience, staff that’s not knowledgeable about the product or being followed around the store… I wanted to create the experience first and then shop for the products that would add to that.”

Why We Chose Jenea:

We were thrilled to receive many great nominations of Women Entrepreneurs from all over the state of Pennsylvania. As a women-owned business, each and every nomination was significant to us and we are honored to support other women-owned businesses. That being said, Jenea Robinson really stood out to us. We chose Jenea because of her passion and dedication to provide a positive hair care experience for women, men and children of color. Congratulations again, Jenea!
