February 2025 Employee of the Month!
Meet Michaelanne J, the February Employee of the Month!
Occasionally you can judge a book by it’s cover.
At first glance, Michaelanne J.’s resume suggests she is an engaged, dedicated worker intent on doing a good job. It doesn’t take long after meeting her to realize she is all those things and more.
Much like a good book, Michaelanne impresses at every turn. She is always early and always prepared. It is obvious that she not only reads all information shared, but also absorbs it. She hits the ground running, ready to make a client’s life easier. Her ability to pivot to different roles within an assignment has also reminded us all that versatility is a huge part of success.
During breaks, Miachaelanne can be seen reading, and when she is engaged about books, her eyes literally light up. When she achieves her dream of being a Professor, it is clear that her classes will be energized by her passion.
Philly Temps (PT): How long have you lived in the Philadelphia, PA area?
Michealanne J. (MJ) I moved to Philadelphia to live with my best friend in August of 2024 after I graduated from college in Atlanta. I had never lived outside of Atlanta before moving but I love Philadelphia.
PT: What was your work experience prior to working with Philly Temps?
MJ: During college I did part time work as a legal assistant for a workers' compensation firm.
PT: How did you hear about Philly Temps?
MJ: After I moved, I spent ages trying to find a job on Indeed and LinkedIn. I wanted an office position but not something that required me to stay on long term. My dad worked for a temp agency after he graduated college and recommended, I look into agencies in Philadelphia. I found Philly Temps and almost immediately sent in an application.
PT: Please share your most memorable experience working for Philly Temps.
MJ: In early February I was assigned a job selling raffle tickets at an ABA convention. All of the proceeds from the tickets went to ABA's scholarship foundation. After four days selling tickets, we raised around $25,000. Not only was it fun to meet people and sell tickets, but it also felt amazing knowing I was helping raise so much for charity.
PT: Do you have a favorite local place to shop / visit?
MJ: My favorite place to go is definitely Old City. I love the coffee shops there and try to go to the Arden as much as I can. My favorite place to shop is a used bookstore there called The Book Trader.
PT: What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
MJ: Having studied English, I really enjoy reading and writing in my free time. I also love to go hiking as much as I can.
PT: What are your long-term career goals?
MJ: I am in the process of applying to graduate programs for a Master of Arts in Literature. After I receive my MA, I hope to pursue a PHD and eventually become a college professor.

MJ: The best advice I can give is to just apply. There are so many different areas and opportunities within Philly Temps and everyone can find a place to fit in somewhere.
