Employee of the Month
Join us in congratulating George Boff on being our Employee Of The Month for July 2015.
A quiet and reserved demeanor can mean different things. In the case George Boff, it is a sign of a person focused on doing the best job he can on any task in front of him and succeeding every time. George is our Employee of the Month for July, 2015.
Perhaps it was George’s studies in the field of public policy or political science that make him so prepared, well rounded and informed. Or perhaps he works at it, but either way he certainly makes it look easy. George jumps on board seamlessly to each event staffing assignment he undertakes.
Thank you George.
We recently interviewed George to try to get to know him a little better.
Philly Temps (PT): Congratulations on being The Employee of the month for July 2015!
George Boff (GB): Thank you.
PT: How long have you lived in the Philadelphia, PA area?
GB: I have lived here for eight months, after moving here from New Jersey last year. I enjoy it very much so far.
PT: How did you hear about Philly Temps?
GB: I came across Philly Temps while I was searching for work after moving here. I was glad to have the chance to speak to some professionals about finding a new job, and appreciative of Philly Temps providing me some opportunities to work.
PT: What has your experience as a temp been like thus far?
GB: Working as a temp has provided me with a variety of interesting opportunities. I have been able to work with many fantastic people and apply my skills towards the completion of some important projects.
PT: Please share your most memorable experience working for Philly Temps?
GB: I have had several memorable experiences, all surrounding the relationships that naturally build up while working with the kinds of dynamic people I have had the privilege of working with. Whether those people stand out because of their sense of humor or kindheartedness, I will not forget them for some time.
PT: What is your previous work experience?
GB: I had worked in a variety of places before coming here, including several political campaigns, a university career development office, a small policy non-profit, and uncountable small tasks here and there in between.
PT: What are your long term career goals?
GB: One of the aspects of being a temp that I enjoy the most is that temp work provides me the ability to join an organization and help them complete a project. This sense of completion comes along with the feeling that I have learned and developed during the process. I would like to continue to build up these kinds of experiences, hopefully leading into a longer term opportunity where I can work towards furthering larger goals.
PT: What is your life like outside of work? What are your hobbies? Are you involved in your community?
GB: I live in West Philadelphia with several of my friends. I spend time playing tennis, gardening around my house, and reading. I enjoy relaxing with my neighbors, many of whom have lived in the area for a long time, because they are an invaluable source of information on local happenings and events.
