Employee of the Month
The Philly Temps Employee Of The Month for April 2015 is Greg Rosen.
Professionalism, flexibility and a pleasant attitude are attributes that you hope for when talking about coworkers. So what do you do when you come across a person who exhibits all three? You make him the Employee Of The Month for April 2015.
Since joining the Philly Temps team in October, Greg has impressed us, as well as our clients, with his stellar customer service skills. Each client he has come into contact with has mentioned Greg as being a real stand-out.
Convention registration, banquet serving, international correspondence and flyer distribution are some of the jobs Greg has done for us. No task has been too great, no line too long, no shift too short for Greg to get the job done and done well.
We recently asked Greg some questions to get to know him a little better.
Philly Temps (PT): How long have you lived in the Philadelphia, PA area?
Greg Rosen (GR): I’ve lived in Philly for 8 years.
PT: How did you hear about Philly Temps?
GR: My girlfriend used to work catering events thought Philly Temps and told me it would be the perfect fit for my sometimes busy and erratic schedule.
PT: What has your experience as a temp been like thus far?
GR: Its been great! Everyone in the office is extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating. I get to do work I never would have the chance to do otherwise. I get to meet a wide variety of people. I’m learning German on the job. No complaints here.
PT: Please share your most memorable experience working for Philly Temps?
GR: So far, my most memorable experience has been donning a matador costume and serving Spanish food. I only wish I got to keep the costume.
PT: What is your previous work experience?
GR: Most of my work experience has been in music. I’m a trumpet player by trade and I have my own band, Swift Technique. A lot of effort goes into booking shows, contracting musicians, promotion, organizing rehearsals, writing new music, planning tours, etc. That has been my “full time” job for the past seven years. I also freelance pretty frequently, playing at churches, casinos, weddings, recording sessions, etc. My favorite freelance job was a month long run of an Elvis tribute show at a casino in Niagara Falls, Canada.
PT: What are your long term career goals?
GR: My priority for the foreseeable future is my band. In the more immediate sense, my goals are to tour internationally, put together a couple more full length albums, start teaching trumpet lessons again, and to be able to make my living by working only in music (no offense, Philly Temps). My other main interest, aside from performing, is making and eating barbecue, so I’d love to have my own food truck at some point in the future.
PT: What is your life like outside of work? What are your hobbies? Are you involved in your community?
GR: Well, outside of playing music, running a band, and making delicious slow-cooked meats I have a few hobbies to fill my down time. I love to read pretty much anything. I’m trying my hand at writing my own short stories. I’m currently learning bass guitar and flute. I’ve been taking German lessons from [Former Philly Temps Employee of the Month] Tina Welsch. I’d like to be more involved in the community. I plan to start teaching trumpet lessons soon. My band plays charity events pretty regularly. Generally I like to stay busy and challenge myself.
