Employee of the Month - August 2016: Kathy Mautz

Our Employee of the Month for August is Kathy Mautz.  Kathy has completed many assignments for us over the last several years. She graciously accepted the assignment of Transportation Manager for our client working the Democratic National Convention which involved long days for the past four months.  Now that the Convention is over, Kathy will hopefully find time to take a well-deserved vacation.  We asked Kathy to tell us a bit about herself:

PHILLY TEMPS (PT):  How long have you lived in the Philadelphia, PA area?

Kathy Mautz (KM):  All of my life!

PT:  How did you hear about Philly Temps?

KM:  From a friend about 8 years ago.

PT: What is your previous work experience?

KM: As a meeting and event planner.

PT: What are your long term career goals?

KM: To keep on working part time on various events.

PT: What is your life like outside of work? What are your hobbies? Are you involved in your community?

KM: I belong to the Port Richmond Civic Association, attending the meetings and doing what I can for the community.  I also sit on the Board of Our Lady Port Richmond School, as well as on the Financial Committee  of my Parish, Nativity BVM, Port Richmond.I enjoy reading, spending time on any beach, reading ON any beach, spending time with family, being with good friends, finding new restaurants with good friends,  anything social with friends and family.

PT: How has working as a temp been helpful to you?

KM: Get to meet new people, bump into old ones, use my planner background, all great things!  Was a tremendous help when I lost my job due to the economy in 2008 and am forever grateful!

PT: Has working as a temp changed your mind about your long term career goals? Inspired you in any way? Motivated to achieve more?

KM: Working as a temp has been just what I wanted!! After fulfilling several career goals, Philly Temps  inspires me to continue doing what I love…being involved in the convention/ meeting/event industry.

PT: Please share your most memorable experience working for Philly Temps.

KM: Of course, my most memorable experience has to be the recent Democratic National Convention!!!!  I was honored and proud to be a part of it, and again grateful to Philly Temps for having the trust and belief in me.
